PHCS administers seven scholarships available to graduating high school seniors of Portuguese descent residing in northern California. Students who wish to apply but live outside our boundaries may be recommended/sponsored by members of the Society. Area of eligibility consists of counties from the Oregon border, south to the San Francisco Bay area as well as counties contiguous to Sacramento County and east to the Nevada border. Scholarship awards may vary in amount of award, by sponsorship, and availability. Currently, scholarships are as follows:

Dutra Museum Foundation – Edward A. Dutra    $4,000   

Dutra Museum Foundation –Deolinda Dutra    $4,000   

Portuguese Historical Society- Lionel Rocha Holmes    $1,000   

Portuguese Historical Society $1,000               

Souza Scholarship – Joseph A Souza    $1,000   

Souza Scholarship – Emily Souza    $1,000   

American-Portuguese Club – Bob and Betty Dias Award   $500
