SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
Eligibility:
- Portuguese Descent
- Graduating high school senior
- Grade point average 3.5 or higher
- Must reside in the geographic area from Oregon border south to counties north of San Francisco Bay, plus counties contiguous to Sacramento County (San Joaquin, El Dorado, Placer and Yolo), and east to the Nevada border. These areas encompass PHCS predominant membership. Students who reside outside this area may apply if endorsed/recommended by a PHCS member.

Application must include the following:
- Copy of official transcript
- One letter of recommendation (from a teacher, counselor, principal, pastor, club leader or employer)
- Essay (300 word minimum) regarding applicant’s Portuguese community involvement and the impact on their lives of the Portuguese heritage and culture.
- List of extracurricular activities (Include: school, off campus, community organizations).
- List of leadership experience.
- Work experience (past or present).
- Formal graduation photograph to publish in PHCS newsletter should you be selected for a scholarship.

- Must be postmarked by March 1, 2026
